Brittny Morrison

Hi, I'm Brittny!

I completed the photography program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta 10 years ago (wow- 10 years!) and dove into the photography world shortly after.  I was blessed to learn from who I think of are the best in the industry.  Tracy Elliott is a lighting expert and was an instructor at Mount Royal.  He has worked on several projects with me as I continue to learn more about the artificial lighting aspect of photography.  If you're looking for a second shooter for your wedding you might be lucky enough to find this guy alongside me!

I was a single mom for 4 years and photography allowed me to be with my son as much as possible.  After spending too many years in industries I hated, photography provided me with a sense of joy each time I went to work.  This made me a happier, more fulfilled person which resulted in being a better mom.  My best friend encouraged me to work hard to achieve success, even without the promise of a steady paycheck or traditional benefits.  He even babysat a few times when I needed to travel for shoots.  After 2 years of late night phone calls and countless requests for advise, I married him in 2017.  We have since added a son and a daughter to our family.

I am a wedding nut, so specializing in the wedding sector of photography was an easy decision.  After all the assisting and courses over the years, I am very proud to say I am an internationally published photographer and have won several awards for my work.  Though this makes my heart so happy, nothing can beat a text from the bride after I send the initial sneak peeks.  I spend so much time with my brides that we end up becoming friends after the wedding.  I am still in touch with most of my brides over the years and every time their profile changes to a picture I took I get a little smile on my face!

You may notice my work doesn't have the look of filters.  This is intentional.  While I appreciate the look at dark and moody, it's just not my jam.  I want to provide realistic images that are classic and timeless.  My images are soft and the colours are what my camera saw on your day.  I don't make the grass greener or look black.  During our time together we will MOVE!  We will laugh and we will have fun.  I will direct you as it takes the pressure off you.  Your gallery will be filled with real smiles, kisses and laughs,

Have more questions?  I'm always up for a chat!
